Raj W Raab, MD is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in brain tumors and complex spine reconstruction. He created New Jersey’s first multispecialty brain and spine Center of Excellence, where world-class clinical care is merged with IT-driven outcomes analysis.
With the Triple Aim of improved health, increased patient satisfaction, and lower cost, his practice, North Jersey Spine Group, has remained at the forefront of quality and value-related healthcare metrics. Dr. Raab has been voted “Top Doc” by his peers for the past seven years.
Dr. Raab has served as President of the New Jersey Neurosurgery Society and remains a member of its Executive Board. In this capacity, he works closely with legislative and executive branch policy makers at the state level. His non-clinical expertise lies in healthcare economics and regulation, particularly with respect to HIPAA, HITECH, the electronic data interchange, NCVHS, CAQH-CORE, and ACH banking rules that strictly govern healthcare transactions. Dr. Raab routinely presents in Trenton before legislative committees as a subject matter expert on these issues.
His most recent economic policy work with the New Jersey Senate and Assembly Budget Committees has led to groundbreaking new legislation that could save the State hundreds of millions of dollars through strict oversight of the State Health Benefits Plan.
