Cybersecurity

Utilizing his long and diverse background in Defense and Intelligence Community technology, Gregg's passion is to bring his knowledge and experience in advanced technology and data science to current healthcare analytics solutions. He began his military career more than 35 years ago as graduate of the US Naval Academy and submariner in the nuclear fleet. His assignments were largely classified, and included Navy Reconnaissance Scheduler, Joint Staff, Pentagon; Professor, Defense Acquisition University; Navy Lead on the Congressionally Mandated Commission on Fail Safe and Risk Reduction chaired by Ambassador Jeanne Kirkpatrick; and he served on the submarines USS Batfish (SSN 681) and USS Simon Bolivar (SSBN 641). He regularly briefed the national command authority, and retired with the Rank of Commander, USN.

After retiring from the Navy, he accepted a position at Scientific Research Corporation where he supported the standup of United States Special Operations Command’s Unclassified Test Bed and the delivery of an Intelligence Data Management System. He also helped develop the Critical Infrastructure Protection Center and its Collaborative Information Warfare Network on behalf of the Space and Naval Warfare Center, which provided interoperability to the Federal, State and Local agencies’ critical infrastructure information and intelligence systems. After completing a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering with concentration in Modeling and Simulation, he joined Oracle’s National Security Group (classified operations) where he delivered complex, multilevel secure systems to the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.

For the past 5 years, Gregg has applied his extensive experience in data science in positions that included the Chief Data Scientist/Architect at Vistronix, an intelligence and technology solutions software development company (today, ASRC Federal), where he designed an ontology-based, semantically aware generalized entity model that enables the harvesting and fusion of external data from public, commercial, and open source producer and internal data from multiple disparate health information exchange systems, human resources information systems, and healthcare information systems independent of the source data structure and format. Gregg is has worked for Aelius Exploitation Technology, LLC, serving as their Principle Computer Scientist and is on contract to Bellrock Intelligence, Inc. as their Chief Technology Officer where he has developed predictive algorithms using Social Determinants of Health to identify patients at risk of readmission and members at risk of transitioning to an acute disease state ("bloomers").

Dr. Hanold received his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the United States Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. He also holds a Certified Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III Program Manager designation.
